Cookie Policy

The cookies Orelon uses and why. Short and to the point.

Last updated: 2026-08-16

The Quick Version

  • We use very few cookies — mostly to keep you signed in and remember your settings.
  • No ad-tracking cookies — we don't follow you around the internet.
  • Blocking non-essential cookies is fine — the core product keeps working.

What Cookies Are

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. They let a site remember things between page loads — like who you are and what you prefer. Similar technologies (like localStorage) do the same job; this policy covers them all.

The Cookies We Actually Use

Essential (the product breaks without them)

  • Session cookies — keep you signed in between visits
  • Credit balance — remember how many credits you have while you use the app
  • Security tokens — protect against cross-site request forgery and abuse

Blocking these means you can't sign in or generate anything. That's not a threat, just how sessions work.

Preferences (nice to have)

  • Language choice — remember whether you browse in English or Chinese
  • Theme — light or dark mode

Block these and the site still works; you'll just get defaults each visit.

Analytics (anonymous, aggregate)

  • Usage statistics — which pages and features get used, so we know what to fix and build next. Data is aggregated and doesn't identify you personally.

You can block analytics cookies in your browser settings and everything else keeps working.

What We DON'T Use

  • ❌ No advertising cookies
  • ❌ No cross-site tracking cookies
  • ❌ No third-party marketing pixels that profile you across the web

Third-Party Cookies

A few services we rely on may set their own cookies when you use their features:

  • Google — if you sign in with Google, Google's own cookies handle that flow
  • Payment processors (Stripe, PayPal, Alipay, WeChat Pay) — may set cookies during checkout for fraud prevention

These are governed by those services' cookie practices, not ours.

Managing Cookies

  • Browser settings — every major browser lets you block or delete cookies. Look for "Site settings" or "Privacy" in your browser's preferences.
  • Block non-essential — blocking everything except essential cookies is a perfectly good way to use Orelon.
  • Delete and start fresh — signing out and clearing site data resets everything.

If you disable essential cookies, you won't be able to sign in or use the generators — that's a technical limitation, not a punishment.

How Long Cookies Last

  • Session cookies: until you sign out or close your browser
  • Preference cookies: until you clear them
  • Analytics cookies: up to 26 months
