Kling 4.0 is Kuaishou's multimodal AI video model. On Orelon, it generates 3–30 second videos at 720p or 1080p from text, images, or mixed references, with synchronized stereo audio. You can also edit an existing clip or extend it with a new segment. Reference uploads are optional for prompt-only generation.

Reviewed October 22, 2026. This Kling 4.0 guide covers Orelon's current configuration and the linked provider documentation. It is a practical workflow guide, not a quality benchmark. The model family and an individual platform's controls can differ.

Open the Kling 4.0 video generator, or read the mode and pricing breakdown before generating.

What can Kling 4.0 do?

Kling 4.0 offers five workflows. Choose according to what you already have and what you want to change.

Workflow Start with Choose on Orelon What it produces
Text-to-video A written scene description Kling 4.0 A new clip without reference uploads
Image-to-video A first-frame image; optional last frame Kling 4.0 An animated shot guided by those frames
Reference-to-video Optional images, videos, or audio Kling 4.0 Reference A new scene guided by the supplied references
Video editing An existing video; optional images Kling 4.0 Edit A revised clip following an editing instruction
Video extension An existing video; optional target image Kling 4.0 Extend The source joined to a newly generated continuation

A reference video guides a new scene's motion or composition. Editing uses an existing clip as the material to change. Extension adds time after the source. These three jobs share video inputs, but they are different workflows.

How to use Kling 4.0 from text or images

For Kling 4.0 text-to-video, open Create Video, select the model, and leave Reference empty. Describe the subject, action, camera movement, setting, and sound. Select duration, resolution, and aspect ratio, then review the credit quote. Text-to-video provider reference.

For Kling 4.0 image-to-video, add an image that already has the composition you want. Describe how it should move instead of asking for an unrelated scene. Turn on First & Last Frame when you need a particular opening and ending image; the start frame is required in that mode. Image-to-video provider reference.

Start with five seconds and one clear action. A longer duration gives the scene more time, but it also increases cost and the number of details to review.

How Kling 4.0 reference-to-video works

Kling 4.0 Reference accepts up to 10 images, 5 videos, and 3 audio clips, with a combined limit of 15 files. Reference videos contribute up to 30 seconds in total. Each audio reference must be 5–30 seconds. You do not need to fill every input type.

Name each reference's job in the prompt. Use @Image1 for the first image, @Video1 for the first video, and @Audio1 for the first audio clip. For example, separate the subject reference from the camera reference rather than expecting the model to infer their roles. Keeping original sound requires a video input. Reference-to-video provider documentation.

Use the Kling 4.0 Reference workspace when you have a specific person, product, movement, or sound to guide the result. Conflicting references make the instruction harder to interpret; a small, coherent set is a better starting point than filling all 15 slots.

Editing and extending a video

Kling 4.0 Edit takes a source clip and an instruction about the change. Optional images can guide the replacement subject or visual treatment. Source videos shorter than three seconds are unsupported; videos longer than 30 seconds are trimmed by the provider. Orelon lets you explicitly select output duration, defaulting to five seconds. Original sound is preserved by default. Editing documentation.

Kling 4.0 Extend appends a new 3–30 second segment to your source. An optional image can guide the continuation's final frame. Billing covers the new segment rather than the full joined video. Extension documentation.

Open video editing or video extension and choose the appropriate model. These two modes require a source video.

Kling 4.0 pricing on Orelon

Kling 4.0 is an advanced model requiring paid access on Orelon. The following rates use Orelon credits, not the provider's dollar prices or another platform's credits. Check the workbench quote and current plans before submitting.

Request 720p 1080p
Text, image, or reference generation without video inputs 36 credits per output second 53 credits per output second
Extension 36 credits per new second 53 credits per new second
Editing or reference generation with video inputs 22 credits per counted second 32 credits per counted second

For Kling 4.0 requests with video-based billing:

Counted seconds = output seconds + max(output seconds, source video seconds).

Source time is rounded up to whole seconds and capped at 30. Reference generation sums the source videos; editing uses its single source clip. Audio references add no counted seconds.

A five-second 720p text generation costs 180 credits. Editing a five-second source into five seconds costs 220 credits: ten counted seconds times 22. A five-second output guided by a 12-second source costs 374 credits. This is why two requests with the same output duration can have different quotes.

Kling 4.0 prompt examples

These are starting prompts, not claims about tested outputs. Change one instruction at a time so you can judge its effect.

Text-to-video: product shot

A matte green hiking flask stands on a wet stone beside a stream. The camera slowly pushes in as sunlight reaches the flask. One continuous shot, soft running water, no dialogue, no added text.

Reference-to-video: separate appearance from motion

Use the flask in @Image1 as the product reference. Follow the slow orbit from @Video1. Place the product on pale sand at sunrise. Keep its shape and color consistent. Generate quiet wind and distant waves.

For a Kling 4.0 edit, specify what should remain as well as what should change: “Change the background to a rainy street at dusk. Preserve the person's clothing, walking direction, and camera movement. Keep the original sound.”

Kling 4.0 FAQ

Does Kling 4.0 support text-to-video without an image?

Yes. Select the ordinary model under Create Video, leave Reference empty, and enter a prompt. Images are required for the image-based workflow, not for text generation.

Is Kling 4.0 free on Orelon?

Paid access is required for this advanced model. Check the pricing page for available plans and the workbench for the credit cost of your selected settings. Account credits alone do not bypass the advanced-model access requirement.

Does Kling 4.0 support 4K on Orelon?

The current integration offers 720p and 1080p. The official model guide discusses broader capabilities, including upcoming 4K/HDR support, but that does not make those settings available in this workspace.

Does Kling 4.0 generate audio?

Yes, native stereo audio is part of generation. Editing preserves original sound by default; switching that option off requests newly generated audio. Reference generation can preserve a reference video's sound when a video is supplied.

Can Kling 4.0 use multiple images as references?

Yes. Choose Reference for up to 10 images, subject to the 15-file combined limit. Choose the ordinary image workflow for a first frame and optional last frame. Orelon does not currently expose a separate middle-keyframe editor.

How long can a Kling 4.0 video be?

Generated clips and new extension segments can be 3–30 seconds. An extension returns the original video joined to the new segment, so the combined result can be longer than the selected generation duration.

For a first attempt, create a five-second clip with one subject and one action. If you are choosing between different input workflows, the Vidu Q4 and Kling 3.0 comparison provides another configuration-based reference.
